Before the top goes down, the removable jewellery box acts as a quick stash for rings, cufflinks and earrings. Other bespoke details include teak decking with mother-of-pearl inlays, embroidered R-R logos in headrests, engraved tread plates, white instrument dials, rotary controllers and clock finished in mother-of-pearl.<br /><br />The coupe will use the standard 6.7-liter V12 engine cranking out 453-hp and 531 lb-ft of torque at 3500 rpm.<br /><br />Inside, it gets a leather interior in Seashell with Navy Blue contrast color, embroidered headrests, and yacht-inspired teak decking. The highly bespoke model was designed to capture the essence of a perfect weekend get-away, offering drivers and their passengers the ultimate luxurious and relaxing experience in roof-down motoring.<br /><br />As well as bespoke luggage, the Masterpiece London 2011 Drophead Coupé features a one-off Asprey jewellery box, housed discretely in the glove compartment. Designed for rings, cufflinks and earrings, it presents stylish and secure storage for these essential valuables before drivers and their passengers sink back into sumptuous leather seats, set the roof down and head out of town.<br /><br />The model was created for Masterpiece London 2011 and hosts a suite of additional bespoke design details, including teak decking, engraved tread plates and Spirit of Ecstasy with inscription that marks the centenary of the world’s most famous bonnet icon.<br /><br />The Masterpiece London 2011 Drophead Coupé is also the first Rolls-Royce to be presented in Mazarine Blue, a bespoke finish that joins a palette of 44,000 shades already available to clients ordering Phantom models. This eye-catching colour takes inspiration from the Mazarine Blue butterfly, a whimsical creature at home in continental Europe, which can still occasionally be seen wafting by in the South of England.<br /><br />The luxurious natural-grain leather interior comes in Seashell with Navy Blue contrast for floor and door panels with embroidered R-R logos finished in headrests. With roof down, the car reveals its yacht-inspired teak decking, with mother-of-pearl inlays throughout cross-banded Santos Palissander wood veneers. White instrument dials, rotary controllers and clock finished in mother-of-pearl complete the design.<br /><br /><b>Asprey Jewellery Case</b><br /><br />The Asprey jewellery case, which fits neatly into the passenger glove compartment, took two working days to finish, using a hide of softest grade-one suede cut into 15 separate pieces.<br /><br />Its central earring holder is detachable and can be interchanged for use with clip earrings or stud styles. There are also two additional sections for elegant cufflinks, and a separate compartment for the owner’s most precious rings. An embossed silver foil Asprey stamp finishes this stunning one-off feature.<br /><br /><b>Bespoke Luggage</b><br /><br />Designed in Goodwood, the bespoke luggage set can be found nestled neatly in the picnic boot of the Masterpiece London 2011 Drophead Coupé. The leather used to craft this bespoke set of four cases is of the highest quality and employs a traditional approach in its creation.<br /><br />Hides were carefully selected for the firmness and grain structure then tanned in pits, a slow artisanal way of producing hard-wearing yet supple leather – and a process that takes four months to complete. The result is beautiful; a substantial material, in deep Navy Blue, that is also resistant to hard wear. Since 2006, the marque has used the race to prove the reliability and durability of its new models - first for V8 Vantage itself, then the new SportshiftTM transmission in 2007, the 4.7 litre engine V8 Vantage in 2008, the V12 Vantage in 2009, the four-door Rapide in 2010, and now, rather more ambitiously, for the first major test of a new concept car - the Aston Martin V12 Zagato.<br /><br />In addition to this year's race, Aston Martin's American team has joined forces with Road & Track magazine to run a standard road specification Rapide at Spring Mountain Motor Sports Ranch in the USA for the same 24 hours as the European team at the Nürburgring. Thanks to the addition of the forward-shifted roofline and the deletion of the second row seating area, Mini has added an active rear spoiler that rises out of the rear panel when the car hits 50mph and drops back down when the speeds drop below 37mph. DSC makes an important contribution to safe and agile handling. In very dynamic driving situations and on slippery surfaces, the system can selectively brake individual wheels and reduce engine power to prevent a front- or rear-end slide at the earliest possible stage. The system includes integral anti-lock braking (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Brake Assist and Hill Start Assist.<br /><br />Dynamic Stability Control is combined as standard on the MINI John Cooper Works Coupe, and optionally on all other model versions, with the Dynamic Traction Control system (DTC) with integrated Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC). DTC, which can be activated at the push of a button, raises the response thresholds to make it easier to move off on loose sand or snow, allowing the drive wheels to spin slightly in the process. DTC also allows a degree of controlled wheel slip under very sporty cornering. A longer push of the button fully deactivates the DSC system.<br /><br />With DSC in "off" mode, the EDLC system responds instead, in relevant situations. EDLC offers enhanced performance characteristics when accelerating hard out of corners and tight bends by precisely controlled braking of a drive wheel that is starting to spin. This improves traction without negatively affecting the understeer/oversteer characteristics of the car. The result is smoother, faster cornering.<br /><br />Stiff body, ideal weight balance.<br />The MINI Coupe is equipped with extra bodyshell stiffening at the rear, which means that the overall torsional rigidity of the body is even higher than on the MINI. In conjunction with the extra-sturdy side sills, this optimizes the occupant protection provided by the strong passenger cell. At the same time the high level of body stiffness on the MINI Coupe also enhances agility and precise handling control.<br /><br />At the front of the vehicle, too, there are special body stiffening measures, along with innovative features to improve pedestrian protection. The resulting weight distribution has major benefits for vehicle dynamics. The slight increase in front axle load rating compared with the MINI increases traction at the front wheels and helps to ensure that the engine power is effortlessly translated into sporty acceleration.<br /><br />The range of safety equipment fitted as standard includes front airbags and head-thorax airbags, which are integrated into the sides of the seat backrests and protect the head, upper body and hip area from injury in the event of a side-on impact.
