Following a withdrawal from the U.S.-market in 1995, Alfa Romeo is back after twelve years with a Big Bang in early 2008! Although confirmed in 2006, the latest details of Alfa Romeo's Return to the U.S. reveal that it will display the much awaited '8C Competizione' at the Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance in Rochesters Hills, MI on Sunday, August 5, 2007.
Yesterday James Selwa, President, Maserati North America announced that the 2008 8C Competizione will be imported and distributed to select Maserati dealerships, adding that less than 100 units of the sought after Competizione were destined for the U.S. market.
The Meadow Brooks Concours d'Elegance will display numerous one-of-a-kind classics, such as the convertible 1943 Bugatti Royale Type 41. The event on Sunday will feature, in addition to 225 vintage cars, a lineup of impressive contemporary super cars - the Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari Enzo and the forthcoming Alfa 8C Competizione. According to Larry Smith, the event chairman, "young people want see to the latest greatest" and modern super cars are used to attract younger crowds.
