2011 BMW X3 SUV Scooped: Grows in Size, Could get a Hybrid Version

Based on the next 3-Series platform architecture, the new X3 bears the codename F25 and will come with all-wheel drive or as BMW calls it, xDrive. As it stands now, the Bavarian SUVs are similar in size, with the X1 being just 4.5 inches (114 mm) shorter, 2.2 inches (55 mm) narrower and 5.1 inches (130 mm) lower than the current X3.<br /><br />While the prototype model's funky disguise does not reveal much about the design, it is expected that the new X3 will do away with the current model's flame-surface styling adopting many design cues from BMW's latest vehicles such as the 7-Series as well as the Concept CS. According to the official press release, Kia VG sedan sits on 18-inch tires wrapping the attractively styled aluminum alloy-wheels. "It's the most successful product nameplate in racing history, and it seems only right that it should be coming to the most popular form of racing in North America.</p> <p style="font-style: italic;">"We had been talking with NASCAR for some time about Mustang as part of its vision for a ‘muscle car' rollout for the Nationwide Series. We both saw it as a way of differentiating the series from Sprint Cup," said Wolfe. "We loved the idea, so we jumped on the chance to extend Mustang's racing legacy to a new series reaching a huge and loyal audience. Mustang has dominated other forms of racing, including NHRA drag racing, Grand-Am Cup road racing, and Formula D drifting, and now it's coming to NASCAR Nationwide.</p> <p style="font-style: italic;">"I think race fans-and Mustang loyalists-will be very pleased when we publicly roll out the first car later this fall."</p> <p style="font-style: italic;">Ford Racing has gone through the official NASCAR submission and approval process for the new car, and, once templates are finalized, production of Mustang parts will start so teams can build the first cars for testing later this fall.</p> <p style="font-style: italic;">"We're excited about the new car in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, and particularly the new body styles such as the Ford Mustang," said NASCAR President Mike Helton. Lamborghini’s original plan was to make a Roadster version of the Lamborghini LP670-4SV, but they’ve been having problems with all that power in a Roadster. So it now seems possible that they will effectively Reventon-ise the Lamborghini LP650-4 Roadster, which is already rolling down the production line at Lamborghini. With work undertaken on the exterior of the car, along with some performance upgrades, a new interior and a number of new wheels, the Jeremie Paret Porsche Cayenne Balrog may not be up our alley but it has already won acclaim from rising French hip-hop star Kennedy, who has had a number of his cars modified by Jeremie Paret.<br /><span class="fullpost"><br /><center><img height="264" id="gallery-main-image0" src="http://www.motorauthority.com/content/thumbs/j/e/jeremie_paret_porsche_cayenne_balrog_002-0728-950x650.jpg" width="400" /> </center><br />Last year we revealed the first major work of former French tuning magazine editor Jeremie Paret, who had dubbed himself as a car stylist rather than a tuner and set up shop with studios in Paris and Dubai to woo the wealthy and tasteful into handing over their cars for some style treatment. While his work on the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 was rather handsome indeed, we thought it would be difficult for even a French car stylist to make the aesthetically-challenged Cayenne look any good - and we were right.<br /><br /><center><img height="266" id="gallery-main-image1" src="http://www.motorauthority.com/content/thumbs/j/e/jeremie_paret_porsche_cayenne_balrog_003-0728-950x650.jpg" width="400" /> </center><br />For the interior expect a generous helping of leather and custom Jeremie Paret badges to let passengers know that this is no ordinary Porsche Cayenne - not that they wouldn't be able to tell from the exterior. Performance upgrades include bigger brakes from Brembo, while a number of engine modifications can lift power in the Cayenne Turbo Balrog to a heady 601hp.<br /><br /><center><img height="266" id="gallery-main-image2" src="http://www.motorauthority.com/content/thumbs/j/e/jeremie_paret_porsche_cayenne_balrog_004-0728-950x650.jpg" width="400" /> </center><br />The Balrog features a new front bumper with cooling vents, a new front grille and bigger fenders to give the car a more aggressive appearance.
