Whitley, Warwickshire, 13 December 2012. Land Rover has extended its sporty and stylish 2013 Freelander 2 range with a new Black & White limited edition model that combines extra equipment with increased personalisation. Taking on board the sharper looks of the 2013 Freelander introduced in the summer, the Black & White limited edition provides customers with extra feature content, and a tailored feel to the already popular SUV.
The Black & White LE takes the specification of the existing S model and adds further features to raise the levels of comfort, convenience and contemporary good looks. On the outside the front grille, side vents and door handles have a distinctive gloss black finish ? shared with the Dynamic model ? plus split-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels. True to its name, the exterior paint choices are Santorini Black metallic or solid Fuji White, with a metallic shade offered at no additional cost. Privacy glass is also fitted as standard and the headlamp units include daytime running lights with a signature arrangement of LEDs.
The cabin displays the new console that debuted in the 2013 model, and is finished with a smart Ebony black cloth upholstery. Bluetooth connectivity and a cover for the rear loadspace are also part of the Black & White LE package.
Features carried forward from the S model include push button start, electric windows front and rear, air conditioning, 60:40 folding rear seats, front rear auxiliary power sockets, eight-speaker audio system with DAB digital radio, heated electrically adjustable door mirrors and a full complement of seven airbags.
There is a choice of two powertrains for the new Black & White LE: Land Rover's 150PS 2.2-litre turbodiesel unit in eD4 form with two-wheel drive, or the TD4 with all-wheel drive. The eD4 has established its fine credentials for economy and low CO2 emissions, with stop and start technology helping it post official figures of 47.1mpg and 158g/km (combined cycle). The eD4 comes with six-speed manual transmission, while the TD4 unit can be specified additionally with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
