The new BMW PAS (Progressive Activity Sedan) is edging closer and closer to reality. Although we have seen this test mule being driven around before, we can now give you a clearer indication of what the next model will be and what it will look like. The PAS will be a 2009/2010 model that will be based on the next 5-series Touring (station wagon).

Apparently it will be priced close to the X6 and will have a wheelbase of around 3 meters. Total length of the car will be between 4.4 and 4.9 meters. In essence, the car fits in between the touring models and the SAV models in BMW’s range.

Sources tell us that the interior will be huge with four adjustable single seats. Contrary to recent rumours, the PAS will not have suicide doors but it will have large wheels, from 18 inch in diameter for base models, right up to optional 21inch rims.

The interior will also feature a modular centre with flat screens, dvd player and small retractable tables. The PAS will also get i-drive. Power will mainly come from 6 cylinder engines in petrol, diesel, and hybrid options. An 8 gear automatic ZF gearbox is said to be available as well.
